Wet Tuna - Water Weird [12''] (high gloss jacket with metallic features, ) (Vinyl)
Water Weird represents Wet Tuna's Three Lobed Recordings debut. The duo, comprised of Matt Valentine (MV&EE, MV, Tower Recordings, Woods, etc) and Pat Gubler (PG Six, Garcia Peoples, Tower Recordings), rolled the dice and formulated six new routes/roots to get you, the listener, to the ever changing ''there.'' Water Weird's got the country funk on 'Cowpath 40', the cosmic strut on 'Poor Old Interstellar', and the dusted ramble on 'Roam'. With 'Disco Bev', Wet Tuna hop off trail to shake down the streets with a fierce electric groove. The album's shortest and sweetest space, 'Goin', is all Jerry-smoke coda, a nod to the spiritual engineer of the new train of jammers where Wet Tuna HEADlight along with their city cousins Garcia Peoples (who feature PG Six as a member). On whole, Water Weird uncorks a steady synthesis of folk-blues, the avant garde, west coast and Swedish psychedelia into a nice, big, fat one. Listen in and you'll always be holding'
